The LA Headworks site is located in the southeastern portion of the San Fernando Valley, in the City of Los Angeles. The site is located on the south bank of the conrete lined Los Angeles River channel. The CHAP wildlife habitat assessment began in March 2010. Six polygons, each representing a distinct habitat or habitat condition, were identified within the project boundary. CHAP utilizes a triad assessment of habitat, species, and functions and is visually based. The habitat type classifications are based on the California Wildlife Habitat Relationships (CWHR).
